LAURIE PLUMB Founder & Principal Designer

After finishing her first career in the fashion industry, Laurie decided to launch Paper Chase Interiors as friends and family sought out her expertise in selecting wallpaper for their homes. Quickly moving from selecting wallpaper to managing full scale home renovations, Laurie has sustained a successful business based solely on repeat and referral clients for more than twenty years. Now that wallpaper is back and better than before, Laurie appreciates her company’s namesake even more than ever.

She splits her time between her home in the suburbs and her Chicago pied-à-terre / design studio. Laurie loves mixing high and low pieces and firmly believes that all rooms need something from a vintage shop or even more preferable, your grandmother’s collection. If Laurie’s not working or playing in Chicago, you can find her walking her cavapoo, Rusty, cheering at her grandkids' sports games, chasing them at the park or picking fruit in her Bozeman, Montana Orchard.

STACEY PLUMB HANDAL - Partner & Senior Designer

Stacey has shown an eye for design from the moment she insisted on hardwood flooring and a Juliet balcony in her bedroom at the age of five. After her first career as a high school English teacher, Stacey decided to join Laurie at Paper Chase Interiors, merging her love of teaching with design. Stacey’s passion for design is driven by working closely with her clients to view their own space from a completely new perspective. Building trusting relationships with her clients, Stacey seeks to teach that good design should not be intimidating. Stacey studied interior design at The Art Institute of Chicago where she holds a Certificate in Interior Design.

Stacey grew up attending the annual Glen Ellyn House Walk toted alongside her mom, and today she is part of the Infant Welfare Volunteer Committee. Between her involvement this and a Newcomers group, Stacey is proudly giving back the the community she was raised in.

When she’s not picking the perfect white paint or out hunting for that unexpected flea market find, you will most likely find her playing at the park with her 2 kids, William and Lizzy or walking her goldendoodle around Lake Ellyn.

CHELLE PLUMB BERKLAND - Project Manager

Chelle joined the mother daughter duo at Paper Chase Interiors in 2020 to be a part of her family's design firm.

Chelle attended Iowa State University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Apparel Merchandising and Design.  Following graduation Chelle traded the city for the mountains and resides in Bozeman, Montana with her husband, Marcus, and 3 boys – Jude, Jaxon and Cade.

A career in event planning allowed her to network with the area's leading industry professionals and excel in client communication, logistics, and project management within the event industry.  After a brief career break to focus on growing her family, Chelle joined a Bozeman based design firm and served as their furniture store manager, merging two passions - retail and design.

Since then, Chelle joined Paper Chase Interiors as their Project Manager.  Living in Montana provides an opportunity to be involved with the firm remotely, working behind the scenes supporting the design team and their clients.

Paper Chase clients can expect friendly notes, and timely reports from Chelle!
